The event is being organised by an alliance of religious, academic, political and civic leaders known collectively as the Universal Peace Federation, in conjunction with other groups who share a common vision in wanting to help bring about a more harmonious world.
The festival begins at midday and will include musical and cultural performances from around the world. Throughout the afternoon several conferences will explore ways of implementing the United Nations Millennium Development Goals and consider such issues as marriage and the family, the generation gap and the status of women. There will also be an art exhibition as well as a variety of interesting stalls and refreshments.
The day will conclude with an awards ceremony, guest speakers and entertainment from 5.30pm through to 9pm | |

Details : |
There will be 2 parts. The first will be a small stage set up in the main field next to the tennis courts. This will be used to hold a series of short dramatisations by local youth groups around the theme of community. These will be interspersed with music or dance from a variety of cultural groups.The second part will be more general entertainment including a bouncy castle, street performers and football coaching from Chelsea FC. The day is headed by the Holland Ward Safer Neighbourhoods Team in conjunction with the Cyrenians. more | |
