Walking Together in Peace - The Golders Green Safer Neighbourhood Police team have organised a Peace Walk for all yr 6 primary school children in the community to take part. During the walk they will visit a synagogue, church, Greek orthodox church, Hindu temple and Buddhist centre to learn a little about the different faiths and cultures. Each child participant will receive a certificate. The aim is to teach children to view their religious and cultural differences in a positive light, to celebrate and respect those differences and promote togetherness because of the differences not in spite of them. | |

London Peace week is upon us. In order to celebrate this event
Totteridge and Oakleigh Safer neighbourhood teams are going to plant a
number of symbolic olive trees. This will be done in the front garden area
of Whetstone police station
As you are no doubt aware the olive tree is ancient in its origin
and is mentioned throughout history as symbolising Peace. Therefore, it is
entirely appropriate that during the celebration of peace week these trees
are planted to symbolise diversity, equality and respect and above all
Peace.
